Hospital de campanha Lagoa-Barra
A film with real people
How the hospital and the film came to life

In April 2020, as the Covid-19 pandemic ravaged the world, 1,200 patients were on the waiting list for a bed in public hospitals in Rio de Janeiro.
In just 20 days, a group of private companies built two field hospitals with 400 high-complexity beds to provide free care to patients of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). Over 1,500 healthcare professionals were recruited for this operation.
For about a month, a team of documentarians recorded the daily life of the Lagoa-Barra Field Hospital. The film was born from the intention to eternalize the story of these tireless professionals who stepped up to the front line to save lives with hope, unity and great dedication.
